Dorothy Griffin

Obituary: Dorothy Lou Bolick Griffin, 83, of China Grove went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at the Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis. She was born February 3, 1931 in Fountain Inn, SC, the daughter of the late Sidney Rose Bolick and Sarah Jane Ashe Bolick. In earlier years, Dorothy worked as the secretary of the Church of God State Office in Charlotte for a number of years. She was a great pastor's wife throughout the years involved with numerous church activities at the churches he pastored. She is a member of Kannapolis Church of God. She was an avid musician and vocalist. She was also an avid Atlanta Braves fan. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, October 4, 2014 at Kannapolis "West A Street" Church of God officiated by Dr. Sam Crisp and Dr. Greg Sloop. Entombment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove. The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 2:00 PM Saturday at the church. She is survived by her husband, Rev. James E. Griffin, son, Eddie Griffin of Charlotte, daughter, Debbie Goodner (Jerry) of Cleveland, Tn., grandchildren, Lindsay Dobson (Matthew), Jarrod Smith, Chase Griffin (Lindsey), great grandchildren, Griffin Smith and Emma Griffin, brother, George Bolick and a niece, Janelle Puckett. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Kannapolis Church of God, 2211 West A Street, Kannapolis, NC 28081 and/or Hospice of Cabarrus County, 5003 Hospice Lane, Kannapolis, NC 28081.
