Dorothy " Dot " (Hancock) Gulledge

Mrs. Dorothy “Dot” Hancock Gulledge, 94, of Kannapolis, peacefully passed away Tuesday afternoon, June 20, 2023, at her home.

Born January 7, 1929, at Mt. Croghan, SC, Dot was the daughter of the late Robert Lester and Daisy Jane Rollins Hancock. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, A.B. Gulledge, Jr., a daughter, Pamela Gulledge Morgan and grandson, Bryon Thomas Bradshaw.

Dot was a devoted member of West Point Baptist Church since 1948, where she served as a Sunday School teacher, choir member and was active in the WMU. She worked alongside her husband, A.B. Gulledge, Jr., to grow a thriving building supply business-Gulledge Building Supply. Some of her happiest hours were spent working in her flower gardens. Gardening was her favorite pastime. Dot was also a fabulous cook, and her banana pudding was quite famous.

Dot loved all of her family and they loved her. She lived for entertaining and feeding them at her home or lake house. A loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Family members include her daughter, Vickie Gulledge Eudy (Jerry); granddaughters, April Bradshaw Paxton (Chad) and Summer Morgan Triompo (Neal); great grandchildren, Chloe Jane Harris, Sunny Lane Triompo and Sawyer James Triompo.

The family will receive friends Friday, June 23rd from 1:00-2:00 pm at West Point Baptist Church.  Funeral services will begin at 2:00 pm at the church, conducted by the Reverends Eddie Willis and Bill Nix.  Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park, where Mrs. Gulledge will be laid to rest with her husband.
