Dorothy Jean Clontz Kincaid, 89, of Kannapolis, went into her heavenly home on Saturday, November 30, 2019 at Tucker Hospice House.
Born on October 21, 1930 in Stanley County, NC, she was daughter of the late Lawson C. Clontz and Wilma Stone Wheless. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Fred Hamilton Kincaid in 2001.
Dorothy worked as a hemmer and seamstress for Cannon Mills, as well as sewed for the public. She was a talented and creative lady, who enjoyed sewing, crocheting, knitting and stayed busy doing all kinds of crafts. She also loved to dance with the senior citizen group at the YMCA.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Nancy (Eddie) Beaver; sons, Scott Dellinger and Jeffery Kincaid; granddaughter, McKenzie Gagnon; two step-grandchildren, Scott Beaver and Shawn Beaver, and 10 great-grandchildren who will all miss her dearly.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. at Whitley’s Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Shawn Beaver officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, beginning at 11:00 a.m. Interment will immediately follow the service at Carolina Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Dorothy’s memory may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, Western Carolina Chapter, 3800 Shamrock Dr., Charlotte, NC 28215-3220.
