Dorothy "Marcella" Perkins

Obituary: Dorothy "Marcella" Perkins, 74, passed away Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at Big Elm Nursing Center, following a period of declining health. Born November 2, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Dorothy Ruth Deal Baker. Marcella was a devoted and loving wife and homemaker. She was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed traveling and seeing the world, as a military wife. Although now in a perfect and better place, she will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Family members left with cherished and loving memories include her husband of 52 years, Harold C. Perkins, Jr., her cousins, Judy Therrell and husband Tony Sr., Peggy Clark, Denna Baker, Geynell Altonen, Tony Therrill, Jr. and wife Kathy and extended family members. The family will receive friends Friday, February 24, 2017 from 1:00-2:00 pm at Whitley's Funeral Home. Funeral services to remember and celebrate Marcella's life will begin at 2:00 pm in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in Carolina Memorial Park cemetery.
