Obituary: Kannapolis, NC Dorothy Lee Rogers, age 86, of 8345 Karriker Rd died Friday October 16, 2009 at Avante of Concord after a period of declining health. A Graveside service will be held at 2:30 PM Tuesday Oct. 20 at Unity United Methodist Church Cemetery in Kannapolis with Rev. Richard Pethel officiating. The family will receive friends before the service from 1:00 - 2:15 PM on Tuesday at Whitley's Funeral Home in Kannapolis at other times the family will be at their respective homes. Dorothy was born August 25, 1923 in Rowan Co. to the late Homer Bank and Mary Elizabeth Scercy Rogers. She was preceded in death by her parents and 3 brothers; Joe, Billy and Donley Rogers and 2 sisters: Annie Mae Eddy and Nancy Lytton. She is survived by 3 sisters: Pauline Stanford of Kannapolis, Mary Lou Linker (Bill) of China Grove and Joyce Steele (Don) of Kannapolis; 4 Brothers: Floyd Rogers, Paul Rogers, Kenneth Rogers (Betty Jean) and Carl Rogers all of Kannapolis and numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
