Obituary: Dorothy Hamilton Taylor, 71, of Rowan County met her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, September 12, 2017. She was born in McColl, SC on July 3, 1946. Dottie did not start living until she met Joe, a wild-eyed country soul who uprooted their little family to China Grove. Dedicated to provide, she served 30 years in China Grove Textile Mill, yet she still had time to enjoy her children and hobbies. Throughout the years she loved ceramic art, cooking and crocheting. Dottie was most satisfied when she was able to give more than keep. No matter what trial she faced, somehow it made life sweeter because of her determination and smile. Dottie was such a nurturing soul, she loved all and gave all to everyone she believed in. She was a wonderful mother, mawmaw, sister and friend. No one could ever replace her humble spirit. Dottie leaves her daughters; Tammy Brown (Jody), Joey Seamon (Wesley), her sons; Frankey "Porkey" Taylor (Tracy), Jody Taylor and David Taylor, her grandchildren; Tiffany, Trevor, John, Amber, Heather, Jennifer, Amy, Joe, Tommy and 12 great-grandchildren. Her family will be receiving friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Monday, September 18 at Whitley's Funeral Home and her funeral will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, September 19 at Whitley's Chapel with Rev. Philip Murph and Rev. Cathy Beaver officiating. Online condolences may be left at www.whitleysfuneralhome.com and memorial donations may be made to the Glenn A. Kiser Hospice House, 1229 Statesville Blvd. Salisbury NC 28144.
