Obituary: Dorothy Lambert Thomasee, age 80, died Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at CMC-NorthEast, Concord, NC after a short illness with all of her family present. She was born February 6, 1932 in Cabarrus County, NC, the daughter of the late Lee Vance Lambert and Annie Cora Black Lambert. Dorothy was a homemaker for most of her life. In earlier years she had also worked at the former Cannon Mills Company; she owned & operated the Orange Bowl at Carolina Mall; owned Lane Street Barbecue at one time; had owned & operated a day care facility on Jackson Street in Kannapolis; and had worked for 43 years as secretary for her husband with their business, Crane Exterminating in Kannapolis. A comment from her family sums up their feelings for her. "The only pain she ever caused us was when she left us." In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by a infant granddaughter, Angel Shea Thomasee; and her brothers, W.T. Lambert, Carl June Lambert, Roscoe Edward Lambert, Melvin Lee Lambert, Fred Cecil Lambert; and Rayvon Lambert. Her funeral service will be held at 5:00 P.M. Saturday, January 19, 2013 at Whitley's Funeral Home, Kannapolis, NC. Burial will be at a later date. The family will receive friends from 3:30 to 5:00 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home prior to the service. The family will be at the home of a granddaughter, Sharron Little, 2364 Wednesbury Court, Kannapolis, NC the remainder of the time. Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Leza Thomasee, Jr.; her children, Joey Thomasee & wife, Cindy; Judy Little & husband, Kenneth; Ginn Bondurant & husband, Thomas; and Billy Thomasee & wife, Ann, all of Kannapolis, NC; her grandchildren, Lisa Thomasee Moose & husband, Chad; Brent Thomasee, Sharron & Alex Little; Brandi Gulledge Briggs & husband, Chad; Jason Thomasee & wife, Summer and Zachary Thomasee; her great-grandchildren, Madison Thomasee, Taylor Briggs, Logan Thomasee, and Dalton & Corbin Moose; and her three dogs that she referred to as her young 'uns that were rescue dogs, Nicklebee, Freddy, and Zorro.
