Dorothy “Dot” Calvert Price, 92, of Salisbury, passed away peacefully on January 28, 2024, at her residence.
Dot was born October 7, 1931, in Indiana. She was a cherished daughter of the late Charles Lovell Calvert and Mabel Snyder Calvert. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Grady Price and grandson, Timmy “T.J” Watson.
Dot was a free spirit, a loving mom to everyone, and a travel enthusiast who found joy in exploring new places. Her love for travel was only surpassed by her devotion to family. As a mom, she extended her care not just to her kids and grandkids but to anyone who needed a motherly figure, earning her the title of "momma" from many.
A faithful member of First Missionary Baptist Church in Concord, Dot found solace in her faith and shared her warmth with the community. Her commitment to her faith was reflected in her kindness, compassion, and a genuine desire to uplift those around her.
Dot’s departure leaves a void that can never be filled, but her memory will live on in the countless stories of her kindness, her laughter, and the love she shared with everyone she met. She will be truly missed by all who knew her.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Meredith Wilson, Stuart Price, and Martha Price; grandchildren, Heather Summers (Scott), Josh Wilson (Ashley), and Megan Hodge (Justin); great-grandchildren, Audrey Wilson, Carter Summers, Gavin Summers, Alyla Watson, and Noah Hodge; sister, Melody Hodgkins, and brother, Milbern Calvert.
A memorial service to honor Dot’s life will be held at 6:00 pm on Friday, February 2, 2024, at Whitley’s Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Herb Rhedrick officiating.
