Obituary: Westminster, SC Dr. Robert (Bob) Pressman Lemmon, III of Westminster, SC passed away on March 22, 2014 at Cottingham Hospice House in Seneca, SC. He was born December 7, 1961 in Rowan County, NC, the son of the late Robert Pressman Lemmon, Jr. and Betty Stiles Lemmon. Bob served as a sergeant in the US Army, and later while a Major in the US Air Force, he served as a physician. He graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill in 1989 with a B.A. in Chemistry. Bob received his M.D. from UNC-Chapel Hill in 1993 and completed his residency at Anderson Area Medical Center in Anderson, SC. Bob was board certified by the American Board of Family Practice and was also a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians. He cared for patients in the primary care setting and as a hospitalist at Clarendon Memorial Hospital in Manning, SC. Bob attended Grace Baptist Church in Seneca, SC. He loved his family and was an avid reader, chess player, golfer, motorcycle enthusiast, accomplished musician, gardener, and patron of the arts. A celebration of his life will be held at 4:00 PM Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel officiated by Rev. Wes Judy. The family will receive friends after the service. Bob leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Kathy Whitley Lemmon; three children: Bailey L. Polson (Josh) of Lexington, SC; Robert (Press) Lemmon, IV of Westminster; Merritt W. Lemmon of Westminster; granddaughter, Parker Grace Polson; brother, Thomas Young (Cindy) of China Grove, NC and sister, Annette Young of Concord, NC. He was preceded in death by his son, Galen Pressman Lemmon, and his sister, Rosemary Elizabeth (Beth) Lemmon.
