Obituary: Dwayne Cooper Bryant, age 48, of Stanfield died Saturday, January 28, 2012 at the home of his sister, Gina Blackwelder, in Kannapolis after a period of declining health.A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, January 29 at Whitley's Annex Chapel with Rev. Ronnie Cooper officiating. Private interment will follow at a later date.The family will receive friends from 1:00 - 2:00 PM on Sunday in the Annex Chapel at other times they will be at 1275 Midlake Ave, Kannapolis at the home of Gina and Larry Blackwelder.Dwayne was born May 15, 1963 in Burbank CA, a son of the late Dennis and Dorothy Edwards Bryant. He was a long-time Stanfield resident. Dwayne was of the Christian faith and worked as a plumber for Southern Plumbing Co. in Matthews for 27 years. He was an avid country music fan and loved watching movies and spending time with his family and friends.Survivors include his son, Jonathan W. Bryant of Stanfield, his brothers; Rob Bryant (Cindy) of Culleoka, TN , Richard Lynn Bryant of Stanfield and Darrell Bryant (Mandee) of Kannapolis, his sister, Gina Blackwelder (Larry) of Kannapolis and many loving nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents, Dwayne was preceded in death by his brother, Rory Bryant in 1992.Online condolences may be left at www.whitleysfh.com and memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Cabarrus Co. 5003 Hospice Lane Kannapolis, NC 28081
