Obituary: Dwight Junior "Big Boy" Raffaldt, 58, of Kannapolis died Saturday, August 30, 2014 after a brief period of illness. A graveside service will be held at 12:00 PM noon on Friday, September 5, at Carolina Memorial Park with Rev. Robert Earnhardt officiating. His family will receive friends at Whitley's Funeral Home from 10:00 to 11:30 AM on Friday. At other times they will be at the residence. Dwight was born December 6, 1955 in Union Co. a son of the late Gus and Esther Marie Raffaldt. He loved watching western movies, the WWE, working in the garden, riding his tractors and lawn mowers, splitting firewood and trading tractors. He worked at Cannon Mills for 25 years as a fixer. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Katherine Odom Raffaldt of the home, his 2 sons, William Gus Raffaldt and wife, Amy Reeder Raffaldt, Michael Paul Raffaldt and wife Leeann McDonald, his grandchildren, Jesse Lee Raffaldt and Dwight James "DJ" Raffaldt, his brother, Donnie Raffaldt and many loving nieces and nephews and other loving relatives.
