Earl Franklin Barbee

February 22, 1925 — January 29, 2021

Earl Franklin Barbee, 95, of Kannapolis, passed away, Friday, January 29, 2021 at Atrium Cabarrus.
Earl was born February 22, 1925 in Cabarrus Co. to the late Clarence R. Barbee and Ethel Cozett Barbee.
Earl served his country in the U.S. Army as a staff sergeant During WWII receiving two bronze stars, he was a superintendent in construction for J.C. Penny Inc., he was a member of Lakeview Baptist Church. Earl enjoyed church, traveling, fishing and the outdoors especially with his beloved wife 'Billie' Barbee.
He was preceded in death by his wife Yvonne Swinson Barbee and a sister Ola Mae Allen.
Those left to cherish his memory, his son Ralph Eugene “Gene” Barbee, two grandchildren, Tracey Dron of Sacramento, CA, Earl Campbell Barbee of Edinburgh, Scotland, two great-grandchildren, Tyler and Lily Clara Dron, and one brother Clarence Ray Barbee of Little Rock, AK. He is also survived by his niece Brenda Darlene Watkins of Ila, Ga.
A graveside service will be held at 12:00 pm Wednesday, February 3, at Carolina Memorial Park, with Rev. Jeff Cole officiating. A visitation will be prior to the service from 11:00 to 11:45 am at Whitley’s Funeral Home.
