Earl Wayne Price

Earl Wayne Price, 79, of China Grove and formerly of Ashland, KY, passed away Sunday evening, March 22, 2020, at Brian Center Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Concord, following a period of declining health.

Born June 3, 1940 in Carter County, KY, he was a son of the late Earl and Shirley Johnson Price.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Erma Mays Price, his second wife, Myrtle Waugh Price, a son, Michael Wayne Price and his brother, Omar Price.

Mr. Price had retired after 35 years of service as a truck driver and had retired from Ferrell Gas Company.  Earl enjoyed being with and spending time with his family.  He had also enjoyed traveling with the Waugh Family and worked with the sound system for them.  Mr. Price was a member of Second Freewill Baptist Church in Ashland, KY, and had attended Grace City Church in China Grove. A loving and devoted husband, father, brother and grandfather, Mr. Price will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Family members left with cherished memories include his children, Chuck Price (Janet), of Rock Hill, SC, Teresa Lunsford (Don) of Point Pleasant, WV, Anita Thacker (Kelly), of China Grove,  Becky Quick, Nancy Campbell, Candy Gelinas, and Stephanie Ralph; his sisters, Jean and Evalene Thomas; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

There will be no services locally.
