Earl O. Reid

Obituary: Earl O. Reid, 85, of Kannapolis passed away Sunday, December 16, 2012 at Bob & Carolyn Tucker Hospice House following a period of declining health. Earl was born on March 6, 1927 in Cabarrus County, a son of the late Clarence E. and Anna Fisher Reid. Funeral services for Mr. Reid will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, December 20, 2012 at Whitley's Funeral Home with Rev. Randall Ritchie officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 3:00 - 5:00 PM on Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at Whitley's Funeral Home. At other times they will be at the son's residence. Mr. Reid was employed by Cannon Mills for 45 years where he was a head fixer. He loved animals and fishing as a hobby. Earl served in the US Army during WWII. He is survived by his wife, Flora Stribling Reid of the home, a son; Terry E. Reid and wife Carolyn, a daughter; Wanda Jill Morris and husband Barry both of Kannapolis, grandson; Thomas, granddaughter; Jonie, four great grandchildren; Ashton, Casey, Logan, and Alexie, and a sister; Geraldine Lackey of Landis.
