Earl Raymond Roberts

Obituary: Earl Raymond Roberts, 89, died Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at the Tucker Hospice House. Mr. Roberts was born March 31, 1924 in Richland Parish, LA. to the late Earl Randolph Roberts and Eula Mae Robinson Roberts. Earl worked and retired from Cannon Mills Weave Room #7; was a W.W. II veteran; a lifelong member of the VFW Post 8989; and he was the world's greatest husband, father, paw-paw, and uncle. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Louise Roberts; two daughters, Pam Parker (Richard) of Concord and Kim Davis (Tim) of Concord; four grandchildren, Capt. Matt Parker (Megan), Tommy Parker, Luke Davis, Colby Davis; two great -grandchildren, Jaxson Parker and Lux Parker; and many nieces and nephews; two sisters, Peggy Fink and Frances Mercurio. He was preceded in death by his parents; and four sisters, Nellie "Tappy" Girod, Laverne Willis, Virginia Morgan, and Irene Herrin. A funeral service will be held 4:00 P.M. Saturday, September 21, 2013 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Toni Ruth Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 2:30-4:00 P.M. Saturday prior to the service. At other times, they will be at his residence from noon Friday through Saturday evening.
