Earlene Delette (Honbarrier) Wallace

Earlene Delette Honbarrier Wallace, 84, passed away on April 10, 2024, at her daughter’s home in Bahama NC after a period of declining health.

A funeral service to celebrate Earlene’s life will be held at Whitley’s Funeral Home at 2:00 PM Sunday, April 14, with Rev. Bill McCall officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends at Whitley’s one hour prior to the funeral, from 1:00 to 2:00 PM.

Earlene was born March 18, 1940, in Cabarrus Co., the daughter of the late Henry and Ethel Miller Honbarrier. In addition to her parents, Earlene was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Wallace, Sr. and five brothers.

Earlene was a longtime member of Royal Oaks Baptist Church. She worked for IBM as a quality control inspector for many years until she retired. Earlene loved all animals, flowers and gardens and spending time enjoying long walks. She was a loving, caring and nurturing person whose home was open to all. It was a reflection of her love for her Lord Jesus. Her family will always remember her telling them to “give it to the Lord” She will be dearly missed.

Earlene is survived by her children Robby Wallace of China Grove, Kathy Wallace (Julie) of Bahama, NC, and Randall Wallace (Julie) of Kannapolis, her beloved grandchildren include Chandelle Wallace of China Grove, Amber Johnson (Stephen) of Granite Quarry, Jenifer Wallace of Salisbury, Jared Wallace of Kannapolis and 9 great-grandchildren. Earlene was also survived by her sister-in-law Gail Widenhouse.

Earlene’s family wishes to express their gratitude to the Doctors and medical staff at Atrium Health Cabarrus for all their professionalism and care given to Earlene during her time at the hospital and to the hospice staff at Transitions LifeCare of Durham Co. who cared for Earlene during her last days.
