Earnest Donald Hardin, Sr.

Obituary: Mr. Earnest Donald Hardin Sr. age 80, of China Grove passed away Friday March 13, 2015 after an extended illness. He was born January 17, 1935 in Rutherford County to the late Samuel P. and Estmer Smith Hardin. He worked for Cannon Mill as a fixer and a supervisor for thirty years and for Lenior Mill for ten years. Earnest then opened his own business, "Don Hardin Auto Sales" which he enjoyed for twenty five years until his retirement. Earnest was a very loving person and enjoyed helping those in need. Earnest was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters Mary Hardin, Sue Hardin and Deloris Kiser, four brothers Carl Hardin, James Hardin, Durell "Gains "Hardin, and Charles Hardin. Survivors include his wife Sylvia Sifford Hardin of the home, two sons Donnie Hardin Jr. of Rockwell, N.C. Eric Hardin and wife Judy of Kannapolis, N.C., two step daughters Sandra Lumsden and Asonya Lumsden both of Kannapolis N.C. and three grandchildren. A funeral service will be held 2:00 P.M., Monday March 16, 2015 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mark Burns officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 - 2:00 P.M. prior to the service. Entombment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park Plaza Mausoleum Kannapolis, N.C. Memorials may be made to, Mt.
