Obituary: Ebbie Jo Ruff, age 68, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at CMC-Lincolnton, NC. She was born August 13, 1945 in Cabarrus County, NC, the daughter of the late James Ernest Ruff, Sr. and Ina Belle Garrison Ruff. She was a former resident of Cabarrus and Rowan counties. Ebbie Jo was a fun-loving evangelist who touched many lives and was loved deeply by her many family and friends. She put her family above her own self. Her family fondly remembers her large collection of hair bows. She will be greatly missed. A graveside service to celebrate her life will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, July 18, 2014 at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis, NC officiated by John Gibson and Georgia Williams. The family will later receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Friday evening at Faith & Praise Assembly, 1413 Spencer Mountain Road, Gastonia, NC. Survivors include her brother, James E. Ruff, Jr. & spouse, Mary of Carlisle, PA; her children, Karen Norris Foster & spouse, Chris of Lincoln County, NC; Grady David Norris, Jr. & spouse, Elizabeth of Cary, NC; Timothy Wayne Norris & spouse, Caprice of Gastonia, NC; eleven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and seven granddogs.
