Edgar Kelly Dutch, Sr.

Obituary: Edgar Kelly Dutch Sr. 75 of Davidson, passed away at his home on Wednesday, October 16, 2013 with his family by his side. His death follows a period of declining health. Mr. Dutch was born in Rowan County on May 15, 1938 a son of the late Henry Hartford Dutch and Viola Lee Rogers Dutch. Funeral services for Mr. Dutch will be held at 4:00 PM on Sunday, October 20, 2013at Shiloh United Methodist Church with Rev. Charlie Gibbons, Rev. Danny Wilson, and Rev. Vickie Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM prior to the services at the church. Mr. Dutch was formerly employed by IBM in Charlotte and most recently was owner and operator of a paint contracting company. He served in the US Army during the Korean War and was a longtime dedicated member of Shiloh United Methodist Church. He enjoyed camping, racing and sweet tea. Kelly was hard working, always making sure he provided for his family and loved God. He will be sadly missed by family and friends. He is survived by his wife Elizabeth (Libby) Elwood Dutch of the home, sons; Edgar Kelly Dutch Jr. of Dekalb, IL., Lucas Caleb Dutch and Zachary Hart Dutch both of the home, daughters; Marcella Lynn Matson of Corona IL, Cheryl Dutch Terry (Kevin) of Peru, IL., and Lee Ann Dutch Ginther (Richard) of Altoona, IA, several grandchildren and great grandchildren, and a brother James Carter Dutch (Kay) of Concord. The family suggest memorials be made to Shiloh United Methodist Church Mortgage Fund, 4151 Odell School Rd., Concord, NC 28027. Online condolences may be left at www.whitleysfuneralhome.com
