Edith Dancy Bond

Obituary: Edith Dancy Bond, 88, of Kannapolis died Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2010 at CMC-NorthEast. She was born January 11, 1922 in Wilkes County, the daughter of the late Jehu Wilson Dancy and Ollie Mae Milam Dancy. She was preceded in death by her husband Collis Matthew Bond on March 4, 1989. She had formerly worked at Cannon Mills Co. in the spinning room and at Jonesboro Medical Center, Jonesboro, Ga. She was a member of West Point Baptist Church. She enjoyed doing puzzles and card games. She also loved her family and friends. Funeral services will be 4:00 PM Friday, Sept. 10, 2010 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Rev. Charlie Littlejohn. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 PM Friday at Whitley's. She is survived by her daughter, Mervene Miller (Allen) of Concord, her son Richard Bond (Hope) of Florida, 7 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
