Obituary: Edna Cook Bostian, 81, of Kannapolis, NC passed away on Wednesday, June 4, 2014, at home after a brief illness. Mrs. Bostian was born on May 29, 1933, in Casar, NC to the late Broadus Cook and Maddie Downs Cook. Mrs. Bostian was employed by BellSouth for 39 years and was a member of the Pioneers. Mrs. Bostian was predeceased by her husband, James Bostian in 2004. She is survived by three children and their spouses, Aaron Bostian of Kannapolis; Anya Bostian Peters and husband, Matt Peters, of Hopkinton, MA; and Alan Bostian and wife, Amy Hunter Bostian, of Hickory. She is also survived by six grandchildren: Daniel Peters, Caroline Peters, and Andrew Peters, all of Hopkinton, MA; and Caleb Bostian, Noah Bostian, and Caitlyn Bostian, all of Hickory. Mrs. Bostian is also survived by one sister, Muriel Isenhour of Hildebran, NC, and one brother, Jack Cook, of Shelby, NC. The family will receive friends at Lutheran Chapel Church, China Grove, NC on Friday, June 13, 2014 from 2:00 to 3:30 P.M. The funeral will follow there at 3:30 P.M. officiated by Pastor William Conley. Interment will follow the service at Greenlawn Cemetery, China Grove, NC.
