Edna Jean Crowell

Obituary: Crowell, Edna Jean Cauble Concord, NC- Edna Jean Cauble Crowell, age 76, went to be with the Lord on December 11, 2009 at CMC-NorthEast, Concord, NC surrounded by her family and friends. She was born July 13, 1933 in Rowan County, NC, the daughter of the late Sam and Rosa Cauble who had lived in Rockwell. She was educated in the Rowan County Schools. She received her cosmetology license and worked as a hairdresser for many years. She then worked as a nursing assistant at CMC-NorthEast until her retirement in 1992. She was a member of Genesis Baptist Church, China Grove, NC and was a member of the Cabarrus Shrinettes. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by a daughter, Rita Alice Morgan; and a grandson, Jamie Ramsey. The funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Monday, December 14, 2009 at Genesis Baptist Church, China Grove, NC officiated by Rev. Gene Edwards and Neil Crowell, her grandson. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis, NC. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. Sunday, December 13, 2009 at Whitley's Funeral Home, Kannapolis, NC. Her body will lie in state one hour prior to the service. At other times the family will be at the home of a son, Danny Crowell, 2839 Ireton Place, Kannapolis, NC. Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Joe F. Crowell; four children, Diane Barnette & husband, Ronald and Danny Crowell & wife, Linda, both of Kannapolis, NC, Sammy Crowell and Scotty Crowell, both of the home; Four grandchildren, Brent Barnette & wife, Lisa of Kannapolis, NC, Neil Crowell & wife, Bekah of Midland, NC, Jennifer Anderson & husband, J.T. of Gastonia, NC, and Amanda Crowell of Concord, NC; Six great-grandchildren, Josh Barnette, Mariah Crowell, Katie Crowell, Taydius Crowell, Parker Anderson, and Emily Crowell.
