Obituary: Kannapolis - Edna Gladys McIntyre, age 97, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, March 10, 2009 at her home.She went peacefully in her own home. She was born December 25, 1911 in Cabarrus County, NC, the daughter of the late Donald Wycoff and Emma Keller Wycoff. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, John Lyle McIntyre, and her loving great-granddaughter, Christina Suzanne McIntyre Affolter. She was a homemaker.She was a member of the Lutheran faith.She was viewed by her family as a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. The funeral will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, March 13, 2009 at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel, Kannapolis, NC officiated by Rev. Rick Perry. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park, China Grove, NC.The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home prior to the service. Survivors include two daughters, Carolyn Sue McIntyre of Kannapolis, NC and Maria Martin of China Grove, NC; six grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
