Edna Frances (Ferguson) Wright

Edna Frances Ferguson Wright, 91, of Concord, went to her heavenly home on Thursday, February 9, 2023.

Edna was born on September 6, 1931 in Cabarrus County, NC to the late Lemuel Randolph Ferguson and Dessie Medlin Ferguson Cook. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Willie Wright, and three sisters, Helen Daniel, Ruth McDonald, and Lola Drye.

Edna enjoyed cooking, square dancing, and vegetable gardening. She also enjoyed traveling and especially loved taking trips to the beach and mountains. She was a member of Broadus Church in Concord.

Those left to cherish her memory include four children, Gary (Pam) Sossamon, Terry Sossamon, Pam Sossamon McClure, and Lisa (Clint) Carpenter; 8 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 1 great grand-child.

A memorial service honoring Edna’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 12, 2023 at Broadus Church, 59 Green St SW in Concord, with Pastor Rodney Quesenberry officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
