Edward Niles Rhodes

Obituary: Edward Niles Rhodes , 73, died Wednesday Oct. 7, 2009 at the Serenity House in Mooresville. He was born May 29, 1936 in Robeson County the son of the late Bruce and Roma Britt Rhodes. He worked as a Security officer at Huntersville Oaks Nursing Home for many years. He had to retire early due to health problems. Edward was also a member at Liberty Baptist Church in Mooresville. He has no sisters or brothers left. He was preceded in death by his wife Bobbie L. Rhodes on July 23, 2008. He is survived by one daughter Renee Rhodes Jenkins, one son David Harris Rhodes, one grand-daughter Brooke Renee Conner, one grandson Ryan Harris Rhodes, and one great-grand-daughter Rylee. He has been in declining health for several years. He was under the care of Lake Norman Hospice and Edward resided at the Serenity House in Mooresville for the last three wonderful months of his life, in which he loved it there. Visitation will be at Whitley's Funeral Home in Kannapolis on Friday from 7 to 9 PM. The funeral will be 12:00 PM Saturday at Liberty Baptist Church in Mooresville officiated by Rev. Eddie Graham. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
