Obituary: Edward Alonzo Rodgers, 92, of Kannapolis passed away on Friday, January 8, 2016. He was born October 7, 1923 in Cabarrus County, the son of the late Wiley and Lillian Rumple Rodgers. He was preceded in death by his wife, Goldie Christy Rodgers in 2009. He had retired from Cannon Mills Co., Plant 1 Bleachery Dept. after 43 years. He was a member of Bethpage Presbyterian Church. He was a veteran of the US Army serving in WW II. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Rev. Chris Pethel. Burial will follow at Bethpage Presbyterian Church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Monday at Whitley's. He is survived by his son, Horace W.
