Obituary: Kannapolis, NC- Effie Orren Ingram, age 92, died Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at CMC-NorthEast, Concord, NC after a period of declining health. She was born June 17, 1920 in Alexander County, NC, the daughter of the late Daniel Lee Orren and Dona Chapman Orren. Effie was employed with the former Cannon Mills Company, Plant #1 and Plant #4 where she worked for over forty years until her retirement. She was a faithful member of Shadybrook Baptist Church, Kannapolis, NC where she taught in the pre-school department for over thirty years. Effie is fondly remembered as a good cook and spending special time loving her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, John Edward Ingram; and three brothers, Ray Orren, Cedric Orren, and Bill Orren who had lived in Taylorsville. The funeral service will be held at 3:00 P.M. Thursday, November 1, 2012 at Shadybrook Baptist Church, Kannapolis, NC officiated by Rev. Rickey Oxford and Rev. Brian Duncan. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis, NC. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 3:00 P.M. Thursday at the church prior to the service. Survivors include her two daughters, Jewell I. Storey of Kannapolis, NC and Jeanne I. Robinson & husband, Ray of Kannapolis, NC; grandchildren, David Storey & wife, Nikki; Eric Storey & wife, Alex; Kelly Hammond & husband, Todd; Erin Duncan & husband, Brian; and Shannon Mauldin & husband, Darrin; six great-grandchildren; her step-mother, Mary Orren, her brother, Danny Orren, both of Stoney Point, NC, and four sisters, Hazel Martin of Kannapolis, NC, Hattie Cloninger and Marie Chapman, both of Taylorsville, NC, and Lynda Holt of Charlotte, NC.
