Elaine (Seymour) Yow

Elaine Seymour Yow “Gmaw”, 71, of Kannapolis, passed away Friday morning, December 4, 2020, at Tucker Hospice House, surrounded by love.

Born October 10, 1949, in Cabarrus County, she was the daughter of the late Robert Earl Seymour and Grace Jeanette Cauble Seymour. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Yow.

Mrs. Yow had retired after more than 38 years of loyal service from Atrium Health Cabarrus.  She had attended Odell Baptist Church and had been active with Raceway Ministries.  Elaine enjoyed Bingo, NASCAR and loved trips to the beach.  A loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Elaine dearly loved her family and the time spent with them. Her family meant the world to her and she will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew and loved her.

The family will receive friends from 1:00-3:00 pm Monday, December 7, 2020, at Whitley’s Funeral Home.  Funeral services to remember and celebrate the life of Mrs. Yow will begin at 3:00 pm in the funeral home chapel, conducted by Rodney Taylor. Mrs. Yow will be laid to rest with her husband at Carolina Memorial Park, following the funeral services.

Loving family members include her children,  Angelia Yow, Shannon Yow Phillips (Scott), Brandy Yow Hassan (Ahmed), Caroline Yow Rymer (David) and Robert Yow; her grandchildren, Jeramie Lackey, Jr., Dylan Farber, Samantha Rymer, Cameron Lackey, Scotty Phillips and Charlie Rymer; her great-grandchildren, Chase, Damien, Bella, Hunter, Xander, Isaiah, Emma and Lillianna; and extended family members.
