Eleanor White Foil

Eleanor White Foil, 89, of Lincolnton formerly of Kannapolis, died Monday May 8, 2023, at the Greens at Lincolnton after a period of declining health.

Her funeral will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, May 11, 2023, at Whitley’s Funeral Chapel with Rev. John Futterer officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 PM Thursday at Whitley’s prior to the funeral.

Eleanor was born May 10, 1933, in Cabarrus Co., a daughter of the late Robert Monroe and Callie Barger Foil. In addition to her parents, Eleanor was preceded in death by her three brothers Robert P., Bill and Gene Foil and a sister Christine F. Johnston. She is survived by her three sisters Nancy F. Skinner of Hickory, Bernice “Gerry” F. Allen of Marion VA and Patricia F. Conner of Lincolnton and many nieces and nephews.

Eleanor was a longtime Kannapolis resident and lifelong member of Kimball Memorial Lutheran Church. She was in the first graduating Class of A. L. Brown High School. Eleanor was an avid horticulturist; loving to grow African Violets. She was a skilled potter, throwing many of the pots she used for her African Violets. Eleanor loved to visit shut-ins in the community. She was a beloved sister and aunt. She will be dearly missed.
