Eleanor Irene Mccoy

Eleanor Irene Connors McCoy, 67, of Kannapolis, and formerly of Rochester, NY, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday August 11, 2020 at her home. Born November 29, 1952 in Monroe, NY, she was the daughter of the late Michael Thomas and Gloria Marie Swale Connors.

Eleanor enjoyed gardening, reading, mental puzzles, and working, which gave her a sense of purpose in her life. Perhaps more than anything, she loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Eleanor is survived by her children, Richard McCoy, Jr and wife Ramona of Charlotte, Jennifer McCoy and companion James Mills of Kannapolis,  and Roger Jarvis of Charlotte; seven grandchildren, Leah Shadders, Corbin Stroth, Zachary Mills, Azure Mills, Alexander McCoy, Derek Lane and Dylan Lane; a great – grandson, Dean Furr; three sisters, Gloria Hettler and husband Gary, Trudy Murray and husband Kevin, and Kathy Connors and companion Jim; and a brother, Kevin Connors and wife Deborah.

A funeral service to celebrate Eleanor’s life will be held at 11:00AM Saturday August 15, 2020 at Whitley’s Funeral Chapel, 1748 Dale Earnhardt Blvd. Kannapolis. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. The family will receive friends from 10:00AM – 11:00AM Saturday at the funeral home.
