Elizabeth (Rodgers) Cook

Elizabeth Rodgers Cook, 90, of Kannapolis went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at her residence following a six-month period of declining health.

She was born November 7, 1931 in Cabarrus County, NC a daughter of the late Walter Mitchell Rodgers and Lucy Smith Rodgers. Also preceding her in death was her husband of 66 years, Maurice Greydon Cook who died January 20, 2017

Elizabeth was a 1950 graduate of Winecoff High School. She worked at Cabarrus Hospital in the cardiac unit and later was a secretary in an accountant’s office.

As long as her health permitted, she was an active member of Center Grove Lutheran Church where she had served as a Sunday School Teach, Council Member and  youth advisor.

She was an avid Atlanta Braves Fan, enjoyed having a large garden and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Funeral services to celebrate her life will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday, May 27, 2022 at Center Grove Lutheran Church conducted by Rev. Christopher Stout. Interment will follow at Center Grove Lutheran Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. prior to the service.

Family members left to cherish her life and memory are two daughters, Elizabeth “Cookie” Hamilton of Rockwell and Marcia Graybeal of Kannapolis, three grandchildren; Kelly Eddings Semcho, Jason Eddings, and Trent Graybeal along with five great  grandchildren; C.J. Semcho, Ethan Eddings, Jaxon Eddings, Torvi Graybeal and Talon Graybeal. She is also survived by a brother Charles Rodgers of China Grove.
