Elnora Wensil Wonner

Obituary: Elnora "Agg" Wensil Wonner, age 87, of Kannapolis died Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at her home after 5 years of declining health. Her funeral will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, January 16 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Raymond Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7:00 to 9:00 PM on Friday, January 15, at other times the family will be at her home, 606 Hillside St in Kannapolis. Elnora was born March 16, 1928 in Cabarrus Co., a daughter of the late Charles and Dora lee Mullis Wensil. She was a life-long area resident and member of Solid Rock Worship Center. Elnora was retired from Cannon Mills/Pillowtex after 45 years of service as a hemmer in both Plants #1 and #6. She enjoyed crocheting and all kinds of crafts. Elnora loved her Lord and Savior. She was a loving mother, grandmother and sister and will be dearly missed. In addition to her parents, Elnora was preceded in death by her husband John Wonner, her daughter Jane Lipe, her son Charlie Brown Huffstickler and her bothers, Lawrence "Buck" Wensil, Walter "Pete" Wensil, Morris "Bud" Wensil; sisters Edith Fripes and Pauline Denance. She is survived by her daughter, Ernestine Campbell of Kannapolis, 6 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-granddaughter and her sisters Doris Ann Shanks of Texas and Dora Lee Litaker of Kannapolis and many other loving relatives.
