Obituary: Elsie F. Teague Huneycutt, 90, of Kannapolis died Monday, Feb. 13, 2012 at Caremoor Commons. Her death was unexpected. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Thursday, Feb. 16 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel with Elsie's nephews, Rev. Steve Fink and Gary Fink, officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:00 to 3:00 pm Thursday. Elsie was born November 13, 1921 in Richfield NC, a daughter of the late Lawrence B. and Mary Yow Fink. She was a life-long area resident and graduate of Crossnore Business College and a charter member of Memorial United Methodist Church. She worked for Virginia's Dress Shop for many years. She loved to read and was an avid gardener. Elsie was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. She will be deeply missed. In addition to her parents, Elsie was preceded in death by her husband, John R. Teague, her son, John Bradley Teague, her brother, Claude Fink and her 2nd husband, Milas Huneycutt. Survivors include, her daughter Patty T. Couch (Johnny) of Kannapolis, her 3 granddaughters; Alisa H. Smith (Aaron) of Concord, Amy H. Odom (Michael) of Boone and Holly T. Laven (Pete) of Little Rock AR; her 3 great-grandchildren, Dylan Smith, Benry Odom and Kellan Laven; her sister Velma McKinney (Bill) of Charlotte and her brothers Lawrence Fink (Martha) of Kannapolis and Carl Fink (Mary) of TX.
