Elsie V. (Daves) Tilley

Elsie V. Daves Tilley, 96, of Kannapolis, peacefully passed away Thursday evening, November 3, 2022, at Atrium Health Cabarrus.

Born October 10, 1926, in Cabarrus County, she was a daughter of the late Floyd Roscoe and Anna Mae Hefner Daves.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Ralph Tilley, 2 sisters and 5 brothers.

Elsie was a proud 1943 graduate of J.W. Cannon High School. Shortly after graduating, she married William Ralph Tilley. She was a former long-time employee of Concord Telephone Company. The story of Elsie’s life would be incomplete without including the passionate love and care she gave to her family. Elsie was a wonderful, devoted and dedicated wife, mother, daughter, and grandmother. A gifted and natural born caretaker, Elsie was able to care for her mother as she aged, cared for her beloved husband, and always had time to share her love with the grandchildren and other family members.  She always put her family first and enjoyed the beach, dancing and was a gifted seamstress. Although in a much better place today, Mrs.Tilley will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew and loved her.

Family members left with cherished memories include her sons, R. David Tilley (Marty) and Philip Tilley (Dawn); 5 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family members.
