Elsie B. Taylor Wallace

Obituary: Rockwell - Elsie B. Taylor Wallace, 92, of The Hope House Family Care in Rockwell and formerly of 713 South Main St., China Grove, NC died at The Hope House on Thursday, May 14, 2009. Born in Cabarrus County on April 29, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Arthur Taylor and the late Etta Wilhelm Taylor. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, George R. Wallace who died in 1978. Mrs. Wallace was a lifelong resident of this area. She had worked for Cannon Mills Co. where she was a sheet folder in plant #1. She was a member of Tabanicle Baptist Church in China Grove. Survivors include her sister-in-law, Frances Deal of Kannapolis and nephews; Donnie Young & wife, Vickey of Salisbury, Delane Young & wife, Kathy of China Grove and Bobby Shin & wife, Mary of Laredo, TX. Also a niece; Lovetta W. Reicher of Salisbury. The funeral service for Mrs. Wallace will take place at 2p.m. Saturday, May 16, 2009 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by Rev. John Milton. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1-2p.m. at the funeral home before the service.
