Obituary: - Emmer Earlene Goforth Reece, age 75, died Monday, January 14, 2013 at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center, Mooresville, NC after a period of declining health. She was born November 5, 1937 in Alexander County, NC, the daughter of the late Carlie B. Goforth and Nancy Barnes Goforth. Earlene was a homemaker most of her life. Her family fondly remembers her as a lady who was loved by her husband and all members of her family. She enjoyed shopping and spending time with her family and friends. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by a sister, Gladys Jordan, and a granddaughter, Amanda Grace Arlin. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, January 19, 2013 at Bethany Bible Church, 623 N. Juniper Street, Kannapolis, NC officiated by Rev. Bobby Sutherland. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis, NC. The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 2:00 P.M. Saturday at the church prior to the service. Survivors include her husband of 59 years, James R. Reece, Sr.; children, Carrie Reece, Tammie Reece, Teena Wilson, Kim Arlin (Dr. Mike Arlin), Candi Phelps, all of Mooresville, NC, and James R. Reece, Jr. of Troutman, NC; grandchildren, Eric Wilson (Maria) of Kannapolis, NC, Chase Phelps of Mooresville, NC, Reece Michael Arlin of Huntersville, NC, and Madison Wilson of Mooresville, NC; great-grandchildren, Michael Cain Wilson, Laura Kate Wilson, and Emily Wilson, all of Kannapolis, NC; three sisters, Lorine Aderhold Snow and Diann Holland (Victor), both of Kannapolis, NC and Linda Clayton of China Grove, NC; one brother, Carlie B. Goforth, Jr. (Pearl) of Kannapolis, NC; and numerous beloved nephews and nieces. The family would like to thank all of her doctors and nurses and a special thanks to the caregivers at Catawba Valley Hospice.
