Ernest "Jody" Joseph Taylor

Ernest “Jody” Joseph Taylor Sr., 66, of China Grove, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 11, 2025.

Jody was born on May 12, 1958, in Scotland County, North Carolina. He was a cherished son of the late Joe (Dottie) Taylor, and Dixie Ann Norton Bass. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, David Taylor and grandparents, Willie and Cecila Medlin.

Jody was a true lover of the outdoors, whether casting a line in the water, dancing to a favorite song, riding horses, or working on cars and fixing things. There wasn’t much that he couldn’t repair with a little determination. These were the things that made him happiest, and Jody shared those passions with family and friends.

Those left to cherish his memory include his son, Joe (Brandy) Taylor; daughter, Amy (Scotty) Taylor; grandchildren, Zachary, Kaylee, Dawson, and Braxton; one great grandchild, Memphis; Sisters, Tammy (Jody) Brown and Joy (Wesley) Seamon; bother, Frankie Taylor; numerous nieces and nephews; and his loving longtime companion, Valerie Galloway.

The service followed by visitation will be Saturday, February 15th at 2:30PM at Pine Ridge Baptist Church. 880 Old Linn Rd China Grove 28023.
