Ernest Roy Whitley

Mr. Ernest Roy Whitley,75, of Kannapolis went to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 19, 2023 at Northeast Medical Center in Concord. Death was unexpected.

Ernest was born November 22, 1947 in Cabarrus County, N.C. a son of the late Clifford Lee Whitley and Alma Fronie Thompson Whitley.

He retired from Cannon Mills, Plt. #1 with 37 years of service.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, driving and customizing his cars and motorcycles.

Ernest was a member of Piedmont Baptist Church where he was active as long as his health permitted.

There will be a visitation held on Friday, November 24, 2023 from 1:00-2:00 P.M. at Whitley’s Funeral Home. Interment will be private.

Family members left to cherish his memory include his wife of 57 years Wilma K. Whitley, a son, Kenneth Whitley and wife Mia of Concord; along with their two twin sons, Nolan and Harrison, a sister, Judy Tyner of Rockwell and her husband Fred and a brother, Robert Whitley of Kannapolis.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to Piedmont Baptist Church, 5870 Wright Rd, Kannapolis, NC 28081
