Obituary: Esther Evelyn Stillwell, 74, of Concord, NC died at Five Oaks Manor on Oct. 20, 2015. Mrs. Stillwell was born on September 25, 1941 in Rowan Co., NC a daughter of the late Walter Carter and the late Elsie Black Carter. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Stillwell who died in 2015 and three sisters. Esther had formerly worked for Bitsy Bakers and later with Cannon Mills where she worked in the sheet dept. She also enjoyed working with the Scout program with Pack 34 at Mt. Olivet Methodist Church. A graveside service will take place at 11a.m., Saturday, Oct. 24th at Carolina Memorial Park conducted by Rev. Curtis Davis. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m., Friday, Oct. 23rd at Whitley's Funeral Home. She is survived by two sons, Bryan Stillwell and Walter Stillwell (Cindy), all of Kannapolis; a daughter, Pamela Artz (Steven) of Mooresville; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and a brother, Jimmy Carter (Pam) of Kannapolis.
