Obituary: Salisbury - Mrs. Ethel Mae Bolen Jones, 80 of 820 Klumac Road, Salisbury, formerly of Kannapolis, died Sunday, April 26, 2009 at the Lutheran Home at Trinity Oaks following a period of declining health. She was born October 9, 1928 in Cabarrus County, daughter of the late Ernest B. and Mary Adcock Bolen. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eveland (Emo) Harvey Jones on December 28, 1999. She was also preceded in death by a Sister, Mrs. Frances Sidle. Mrs. Jones was a receptionist at Cabarrus Memorial Hospital retiring in l995 with 21 years of service. She was a member of Bethpage United Methodist Church of Kannapolis. She was known for her love of cooking. She is survived by one Son: Doug Jones and wife Melody of Salisbury, one Daughter: Mrs. Amy Jones Ikerd of Mt. Pleasant, NC, a Sister: Mrs. Betty Coggins of Ocean Isle Beach, NC. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Christopher Douglas Jones, Caroline Nichole Jones, Chandler Alan Jones and Lindsey Nichole Ikerd. Also two great grandchildren: Jackson Ellis Jones and Charlotte Frances Jones. Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, April 28, 2009 at Whitley's Funeral Home Annex Chapel conducted by Rev. Jeff Coppley, Rev. Duane Melton, and Rev. Page Krotchko. The family will receive friends Tuesday 11:30-1:00 P.M. prior to services. At other times the family will be at the home of the daughter, Amy Ikerd of Mt. Pleasant. Interment will follow in West Lawn Memorial Park, China Grove.
