Eugene (Christy) Bradford

Obituary: Eugene (Christy) Bradford Christy, age 77, died Saturday, December 11, 2010 at his home after four months of declining health. He was born October 25, 1933 in Cabarrus County, NC, the son of the late Robert Washington Christy and Myrtle Cranford Christy. He was a bricklayer having worked for the former Kluttz Brothers Construction Company. Christy attended Elwood Lane Freewill Baptist Church, Kannapolis, NC. His family fondly remembers his love of fishing and motorcycles. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and uncle. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a daughter, Dianne Christy Moore; a granddaughter, Christy Moore; a sister, Mary Christy Thomas; and two brothers, Frank Christy and Bob Christy. The funeral service will be 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel, Kannapolis, NC officiated by Revs. David Parrish and Tom Parrish. Burial will follow at Sunset Cemetery, Kannapolis, NC. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to9:00 P.M. Monday, December 13, 2010 at the funeral home. The family will be at the home of James & Meeka Sims, 2168 Mallard Pointe Drive, Kannapolis, NC the remainder of the time. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Nancy Cline Christy; a brother, Bill Christy & wife, Bobbie of Kannapolis, NC; two sisters, Mattie Love of Stanfield, NC and Peggy Shue of Kannapolis, NC; and three great-grandchildren, Chase Rogers, Jasmine Moore Sims, and Kenzie Sims; and numerous nieces & nephews.
