Eugene Caldwell Gordon

Eugene Caldwell Gordon, 84, of Kannapolis, peacefully passed away Tuesday evening, December 12, 2023, at Atrium Health Cabarrus, following a period of declining health.

Born January 10, 1939, in Stanly County, he was the son of the late Walter Clayton Gordon and Ruth Morgan Gordon.  In addition to his parents, Eugene was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Lipe Gordon.

Mr. Gordon had owned a food truck for many years, providing meals for various businesses. Later in life, Eugene was blessed with meeting Joyce Hathcock. The two met at the senior center, and enjoyed dancing, traveling, putting puzzles together and each-others company. An avid Hank Williams fan, he also enjoyed NASCAR.  He attended Philadelphia Baptist Church. A simple and sweet man with a peaceful soul, Eugene will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Graveside services to remember and give thanks for Eugene’s life will begin at 2:00 PM Saturday, December 16, 2023, at Ebenezer Lutheran Church Cemetery in China Grove, conducted by Dr. Carey C. Snellings.
