Obituary: Eugene "Gene" Hall, 76 of Kannapolis passed away Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at CHS-NorthEast. He was born October 20, 1939 in Elbert County, Georgia, a son of the late Lindsay and Cora Jane Dickerson Hall. He was preceded in death by his wives, Betty Ann Slezer Hall July 12, 1979 and Janie Edwards Hall on October 12, 2008. Gene was owner and operator of the Townhouse II restaurant in Kannapolis since 1992. He retired from the US Postal Service after 30 years where he had worked in Charlotte and at the Bulk Mail Center in Greensboro. He was a faithful member of Central Baptist Church he was involved in many activities. He was over the transportation committee at church, member of the Social Committee where he cooked meals for all church occasions and Welcoming committee, where he was known as the back door greeter for many years. Gene was a veteran of the US Navy serving in the Korean War. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday, September 17, 2016 at Central Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Curtis Parker and Rev. Allen Reid. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park with military honors. The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 PM prior at the church. He is survived by his son, Gene Hall (Jeri), step daughters, Carmen Steen (Scott), Virginia McCombs (Willard), Cindy Stewart, Sharlyn Smith (Brian), step son, Marty Lefler, sister, Mary Walters, 11 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
