Obituary: Tarlton, Eula Mae Motley Kannapolis, NC- Eula Mae Motley Tarlton, age 86, died Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at Brian Center, Concord, NC after 8 months of declining health. She was born December 3, 1924 in Cabarrus County, NC, the daughter of the late Dave Wesley Motley and Idell Lambert Motley. Eula was a homemaker for most of her life. She was a member of the Baptist faith. Her family fondly remembers her love of cooking and keeping children in her home. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Howard R. Tarlton; a grandson, Ronnie Poole, Jr.; a sister, Edith Ritchie; and a brother, Dave (Buddy) Motley, Jr. The funeral service to celebrate her life will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, January 21, 2011 at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel, Kannapolis, NC officiated by her nephew, Rev. Johnny W. (Buck) Canup. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis, NC. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday, January 20, 2011 at the funeral home. The family will be at the home of a daughter, Linda T. Poole, 1003 Desoto Avenue, Kannapolis, NC the remainder of the time. Survivors include her children, Howard (Sonny) Tarlton, Jr. & wife, Jatana of Concord, NC, Nancy Campbell & husband, Preston, Linda Poole & husband, Ronnie, and Tony Tarlton & wife, Jane, all of Kannapolis, NC; and Tommy Smith & wife, Jennifer of Grimesland, NC; three sisters, Josie Love of Harrisburg, NC, Betty Thompson of Kannapolis, NC, and Pat Cox & husband, Everette of Concord, NC; a brother, Bobby Ray Motley of Concord, NC; four grandchildren, David Campbell, Scott Tarlton, Amy Elmore, and Lori Zito; and four great-grandchildren, Madelyn Poole, Brandon Tarlton, Jessica Tarlton, and Thomas Elmore.
