Eunice Odell Pittman

Obituary: Eunice Odell Allen Pittman, 79, formerly of Long Ferry Rd., Salisbury went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday March 24, 2010 from Genesis Eldercare of Salisbury surrounded by her family. She was born August 15, 1930 to the late Mae and Emma Bullard Allen in Chesterfield County, SC. She had worked at Cannon Mills Co. Plant 1 #7 Weave room for 25 years. She was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Pittman whom she married on July 5, 1947, a grand-daughter Deborah Faye Lyles, a daughter-in-law Cindy Pittman, stepmother Ethel Jordan who raised her, 3 sisters and 3 brothers. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Saturday, March 27, 2010 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Rev. Bobby Sutherland and Rev. Derald Adams. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Friday at Whitley's. At other times the family will be at the home on Long Ferry Rd. Those left to cherish her memory are eight children: Jessie Pittman and wife Gayle of Midland, Retha Pepper and husband Harold of Salisbury, Jean Hopson and husband David of Salisbury, Kathy Bostian and husband Dean of Kannapolis, Ricky Pittman and wife Vickie of Kannapolis, Marty Byerly and husband Wayne of Thomasville, Donald Pittman and wife Judy of Rockwell and Eddie Pittman and fiancé Dana of China Grove, her sister Madge Mills of Jefferson, SC, 31 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. The family would like to express grateful appreciation to the Staff at Genesis Eldercare, Salisbury for their compassionate and loving care given to our loved one.
