Eveline Hinson

Obituary: Eveline Grogan Hinson, age 86, went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 17, 2015 at Tucker Hospice House, Kannapolis, NC after an extended illness. She was born July 19, 1928 in Hall County, GA, a daughter of the late Sydney Earl and Aline Grogan. A long-time area resident, Eveline moved to Kannapolis from GA in 1943. She was employed with the former Cannon Mills Company, Plant One, Washcloth Dept. as a reinspector for 46 years until her retirement in 1995. She was a member of Memorial Baptist Church, Kannapolis, NC. Among her many interests, Eveline was an avid gardener and loved canning. Her family was proud of her resourcefulness and independence until her health failed recently. Eveline was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and sister. She will be dearly missed. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, James G. Hinson; her sisters, Anniebelle Grogan and Grace Chambers; and a brother, Louis Grogan. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel, Kannapolis, NC officiated by Rev. Tim McQueen. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis, NC. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Monday, July 20, 2015 at the funeral home. Survivors include her daughter, Diane Taylor (Bob) and a grandson, Zachary Brown (Courtney), both of China Grove; a granddaughter, Megan Yockey & husband, Robert of Centreville, VA; a great-granddaughter, Cassidy Brown; a sister, Imogene Bruce of Georgia; and numerous nieces & nephews.
