Evelyn Phillips Frye

Obituary: Evelyn B. Phillips Frye, 91 formerly of Landis passed away on Monday, September 3, 2012 at Bob and Carolyn Tucker Hospice House after a period of declining health. She was born September 6, 1920 in Cabarrus County, the daughter of the late Marcus Kyde Phillips and Ruth Ella Upright Phillips. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marshall "Sig" Frye in 2000. She retired from Cannon Mills Co. in 1985 after 44 years working in Data Processing. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Friday, Sept. 7, 2012 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Rev. Judy White. The family will receive friends at Whitley's prior from 2 to 3. Private burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. She is survived by her daughter, Millicent "Millie" L. Frye, two grandchildren, David C. Wright (Michele) and Jason M. Wright and two great-grandchildren, Kennedy and Boston. Memorials may be made to Trinity UMC, 416 E.
