Obituary: Kannapolis, NC Sarah "Evelyn" Gordon Greene, 77, of Kannapolis died Thursday, June 28, 2012 at Bob and Carolyn Tucker Hospice House after a brief period of declining health. Private burial of cremains will take place at Carolina Memorial Park She was born November 6, 1934 in Danielsville, GA, a daughter of the late William and Fairy Bessie Garner Gordon. A long-time area resident, Evelyn worked for many years in textiles as an over-edger and supervisor. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. Evelyn will be dearly missed. Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, John Henry Greene, Seaman 2nd Class, serving two tours of Duty. She is survived by her daughter, Ginger Greene Campbell, her son, John Wendell Greene (Debbie), her granddaughter, Angie Rusmisel (Terry), her great-grandson, Cody Rusmisel, her sisters, Norene Freeze, Syble Moseley and her brother, OB Gordon, all of Kannapolis.
