Obituary: Evelyn Mincey, 97 years old of Kannapolis passed away peacefully at home surrounded by those that loved her on Wednesday, August 10, 2016. She was born in Union County, NC a daughter of the late Lester and Sarah Helms. She was preceded in death by her husband Bill Mincey, Sr., son Bill Mincey, Jr., sisters, Pauline Bowers, Mary Hess, and Johnnie Frye. She is survived by her loving and faithful daughter Martha Mincey, a sister Jacqueline Helms, and her loving nieces, nephews, and those that called her "Mom". Visitation will be held at Whitley's Funeral Home from 10:00 A.M.-12:00 P.M. Saturday, August 13, 2016. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 Noon Saturday, August 13,2016 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Willie Rash of Centerview Baptist Church and Rev. James G. Kent, ordained by Carolina Evangelist Association and Maranatha Full Gospel Fellowship. Interment will follow at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, August 13, 2016 at Carolina Memorial Park.
