Obituary: - Everette Ulen Lambert, age 93, passed away on Monday, May 4, 2015 at his home after suffering a short bout with cancer. He was born November 4, 1921 in Alexander County, NC, the son of the late Stamey Lee Lambert and Minnie Rector Lambert. Everette was employed with the former Cannon Mills Company, plants ten; four; five; eight; and finally plant seven. He was a supervisor there for twenty-five years and had worked for the company for forty-eight years. He was also a member of Franklin Heights Baptist church, Kannapolis, NC and enjoyed traveling with his wife and gardening over the years. Everette was also proud of being a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during World War II. He was especially proud of serving under General George S. Patton's 3rd Army. His family fondly remembers his love of spending quality time with friends and his church family. As an added talent, he was a prolific poetry writer. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his first wife, Clara Lowder Lambert in 1977; and a daughter, Phyllis Rary Rinehardt. The funeral service to celebrate his life will be held at 11:00 am Friday, May 8, 2015 at Franklin Heights Baptist Church, Kannapolis, NC officiated by Rev. Jim Grigg. Burial will be at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis, NC at a later date. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday, May 7, 2015 at Whitley's Funeral Home, Kannapolis, NC. The family will be at the residence the remainder of the time. Survivors include his 2nd wife, Frankie Cook Lambert; three sons, Jimmy H. Lambert and Jerry Lambert, both of Kannapolis, NC; and Steve L. Lambert of Myrtle Beach, SC; one brother, Joe Lambert of Kannapolis, NC; one step-son, Randall Yates of Robbinsville, NC; five grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren; and his faithful companion, "Benji."
